As an Empath we sense energy from people and the environment around us and absorb it. This allows us to experience the energy all around us, including emotions and physical sensations, in extremely deep ways, it is in our Soul. We take in theses feelings, emotions and pain of others and often have trouble distinguishing someone else’s discomfort from our own. Some Empaths also have profound spiritual and intuitive experiences with animals and nature.
Empaths are naturally giving, spiritually open, and good listeners and are highly attuned to other people’s moods, good and bad. Our nerves can get extremely razzeled by excessive noise, smells, or talking. As Empaths, we feel everything, sometimes to an extreme and when we take on negativity such as anger or anxiety, it can be so ever exhausting, but if we are surrounded with peace and love, we can truly flourish.
Everyday life can also be too much for us and we need the natural world to nourish and restore ourselves. It helps us to release our burdens and allows us to take refuge in the presence of the untamed natural world, such as the forest, the mountains, canyons, the ocean, and or other bodies of water, anywhere there is just nature with no people. As an Empath, we need many strategies to protect our sensitivities, such as dutiful time management, meditation, going out into nature to calm ourselves, and we need to set limits and boundaries with others who are draining.
Some find being an Empath a gift, but we have to learn to take care of ourselves, as we have special needs. If you’re one of them, it’s important to understand your needs and communicate them to loved ones.
Others feel being an Empath a curse and may confuse it with mental health disorders, as they do not understand what they are feeling, which can lead to depression and anxiety.
So are you an Empath….if you think you might be, it is imperative that you do your research, as it may help you better understand your Soul!
